India will host a meeting between the renewable energy ministers of India and the various ASEAN countries (Association of South East Asian Nations) on November 7, 2012 in New Delhi. They will be discussing areas of cooperation in policies/regulatory framework related to renewable energy projects in South Asia. Financing, R&D, Resource Allotment and Technology transfer of renewable energy technologies would be the core focus areas.
Also, on November 5 & 6, a two day workshop for renewable energy policy planners and experts has been arranged by the MNRE, GITA & DST in New Delhi. During this workshop, renewable energy experts from all the involved countries will be sharing their experiences on deployment of renewable energy technologies. They will identify the various areas of cooperation and sharing of R&D expertise for mutual benefit and faster development of renewable energy technologies among the participating countries.
