Established in 1987, RRB Energy Ltd is an Indian wind turbine manufacturer. They have their corporate office/production facility for controller/spare-parts in Delhi. They also have a full-fledged wind electric generator manufacturing facility and wind turbine blade manufacturing facility in Chennai.
RRB Energy is ISO 9001:2008 & ISO 14001:2004 certified company. In addition to manufacturing, they offer turnkey solutions for wind power projects in certain specialized areas including site selection, micro siting of turbines, project report, project engineering, erection/ commissioning, after sales support, etc. They are also an independent wind power producer and provide carbon advisory services to customers to help them obtain/encash carbon credits.
RRB Energy says that they have installed met-masts at various locations across the country, to study the wind energy generation potential and feasibility in individual locations. They also have a full-fledged R&D team in India to develop new products and enhance existing products related to the wind energy industry.
It seems, every RRB Energy wind turbine is equipped with microprocessor controller and pitch regulation system that controls the angle of the blade (based on the wind direction), in order to maximize the energy output and reduce the load on blades. Their wind turbines also come with appropriate lightning protection systems. Since 2007, RRB Energy has been exporting wind turbines.
RRB Energy manufactures a range of wind turbines including V27-225kW, V39-500kW, PS-600kW, and PS-1800kW.
