LUXSOLAR is an Italian company and they manufacture LED Aircraft Warning Lights for Wind Turbines (among others). They use solar panels/vertical-axis wind generators to power some of their LED (flash) aircraft warning light models. This could be very useful for certain sites because customers do not have to plan for powering up their flash lights, separately. LUXSOLAR had exhibited at the Wind Power India 2012 expo and that's how I came to know about them. I am not sure if India has any regulations mandating warning lights over wind turbines, but in certain areas (near airports, etc.), these flash lights could be useful. Their flash lights, that are powered using wind/solar energy, use supercapacitors for energy storage. Well, that makes me wonder if supercapacitors are slowly becoming popular for energy storage? Perhaps they are, for certain applications.
