I got a chance to meet the representatives of iAcharya Silicon Ltd, at the recently concluded Wind Power India 2012 exhibition. They are a Chennai (India) based company selling innovative solar, solar-wind hybrid products & services to individual/institutional consumers & power producers.
iacharya Silicon Limited is a ISO 9001:2008 certified company and they have partnerships with vendors/manufacturers in order to provide a turnkey solutions/integrated package to the customer.
For the home/industrial customers, they offer off-grid rooftop solar panel systems ranging from 0.3 kWp to 100 kWp capacity. Customers can use solar panels on their roofs/shades and use the power generated from solar panels for their daily applications, as a back up during power cuts, etc.
For individual consumers, they offer innovative products using solar technology like the solar power packs that can be used to charge mobile phones, laptops, etc. They also offer solar-powered torches, lanters, DC fans, etc.
One product that caught my fancy was the solar air-conditioner. I guess you are aware that air conditioners draw a lot of power. If solar energy is used to power them instead, they can save a lot of money (electricity costs) on an on-going basis. Even though the upfront cost of solar air-conditioner system might be slightly higher (when compared to normal A/C's), reduced running costs will pay the investment in them back, sooner.
Other products offered by iacharya include LED lights powered by solar panels. These lights can be used for external applications like garden lights, street lights, highway-lighting applications, etc. Since LED lights consume less power, they are a good match for solar power systems.
iacharya offers solar-wind hybrid systems. These are micro wind turbines & solar modules combined into a single unit. At places where wind capacity is good (solar capacity is good anywhere in India), these systems can be used to give more/continuous power supply (even during the nights).
iacharya offers EPC consultancy services for on-grid and off-grid solar power projects. They offer solar training services and in particular, they offer UL-certified training courses in India. In fact, they have one UL training program coming up shortly (19-21 Dec, 2012) at Chennai. They also offer turnkey services for solar project development and energy optimization services for utility-scale solar power plants.
