JC Battery is a company based out of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and they are the manufacturers of lead acid batteries for a number of applications, including solar batteries. They also manufacture lead alloys and lead oxides, the raw materials used in lead acid batteries. I came across this company in the recently concluded RENERGY 2013 expo, in Chennai.
Their website says that JC Unit is ISO 9001:2008, ISO 1400:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007 certified. They also say that their solar batteries are CECRI tested and approved by MNRE & TNPCB.
They have mentioned two models of solar batteries in their site: JCIT 120 (120 Ah), JCIT 500 (150 Ah).
Solar batteries are generally different from normal batteries (car batteries, for example) and you can read the differences from here. But I am not able to get further information on what differentiates JC solar batteries from other type of batteries, from their website. If anyone from the company is reading this article, you might want to add a comment here to clarify that point, or include that information in your site.
