  • Thermax is headquartered in Pune and has a global presence with operations in more than 75 countries. Thermax provides various solutions in the energy domain and manufactures heating equipment, absorption chillers, waste water management systems, waste heat recovery units, air pollution control systems, among others. They also establish and operate power/cogeneration plants.

Thermax has an exclusive solar thermal solution portfolio. Among others, they manufacture non-imaging collector, parabolic dish and parabolic trough collectors. Basically, these equipment concentrate the solar energy (heat) onto a small area that concentrates the heat. This heat is used to power various applications like steam boilers, hot water generators, absorption cooling machines, etc.

Thermax provides EPC and O&M services for solar thermal power projects and solar photovoltaic power projects. According to their website, they have been accredited as channel partners for MNRE for off-grid & decentralized solar applications; and they have a CRISIL rating of SP1A.

Solar thermal energy is a renewable source of energy as it uses sun's heat that is available abundantly in India. Solar PV, in contrast, converts sunlight into energy. Solar thermal energy can also be combined with other forms of energy like biomass, coal, etc. to improve its efficiency.

Thermax supplies SolPac N130, a non-imaging collector, that caters to heating applications up to 120 Deg C. They also supply SolPac D160, a 16 sq. meter solar parabolic dish with dual-axis tracking mechanism that concentrates heat and produces steam, which can be used for a number of heating/cooling/electricity generation applications.

Thermax SolPac P60 is a solar parabolic trough concentrator that consists of a reflector and glass covered receiver tube filled with a working fluid. This fluid can be heated up to 210 Deg. C, which can be used for various applications.

Thermax SolPac C50 is a parabolic solar dish cooking system that uses the sun's heat directly for community cooking purposes. This system consists of a parabolic dish concentrator, suitably coated cooking vessel and manual tracking system (to focus on the sun) that combine together to cook meals without any fuel.
