  • Wind Power India 2012, the largest exhibition dedicated to wind energy in India will be held from November 28 to November 30 (2012) at the Chennai Trade Center, Mount Ponamallee Road, Nandambakkam, Chennai - 89, Tamil Nadu, India.

This year marks the second edition of this expo and it is organized by Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association (IWTMA), World Institute of Sustainable Energy (WISE), Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC). More than 200 exhibitors from 20+ countries and 10,000+ visitors are expected during this year's event.

The theme for this year's Wind Power India 2012 expo will be, 'Power For Ever' as wind will always keep blowing during any season, any time of the day. It is estimated that in 2011 alone, 3 GW of wind power was added in India!

The exhibition will be conducted in Chennai Trade Center (Hall 1,2,3) with a floor area of around 10,000 sq. m and there will also be certain conferences specific to wind energy in India that will be held in the same venue (Hall A, B).

The details regarding exhibitor layout, tariff and other details can be found here (If you want to put up your stall in the event). The details regarding the conference sessions, price to attend the conferences, etc. can be found here. This year, it is expected that more than 60 speakers will be presenting during the conferences and there will be a separate track (one day conference) for Small wind and Hybrid systems.

The exhibition will be divided into pavilions including wind power financing, small wind, software & IT solutions, wind energy forecasting. Since small/micro wind turbines, hybrid solar-wind systems are gathering interest and momentum among the renewable energy community in India, there will be additional focus on such systems in this years expo.

In addition to the exhibitions and conferences, there is an option called launchpad that gives access to a mini pavilion (50 seats) for the exhibitors, which can be used by them to hold a small conference for one and a half hours.

If you are related to the wind energy sector in India or if you have plans to implement wind energy for generating power in your premises, you might want to attend this expo.
