  • At the recent Wind Power India 2012 exhibition in Chennai, Kenersys announced the introduction of two Class-III Wind Turbines for the Indian market - The K98 1.8 MW & K120 2.3 MW.

Kenersys is a company specialized in manufacturing on-shore Multi-MegaWatt turbines, especially for low and medium wind-speed sites. Kenersys is headquartered in Muenster, Germany and has manufacturing facilities in Wismar (Germany), Baramati (India), with an annual production capacity of 950 MW.

Kenersys is planning to commercialize both the new turbines by Q1, 2014 for the Indian market. The K98 1.8 MW wind turbine comes with a rotor diameter of 120 meters and the K120 2.3 MW wind turbine comes with a rotor diameter of 120 meters.

Kenersys says that these two wind turbines provide an efficient/ cost-effective solution for sites with wind speeds of Class-III and below, and hence is suitable for the Indian market.

    Advantages of Kenersys Wind Turbines:
    • Multi-Megawatt platform, large rotor diameters for lower cost of energy generation
    • Higher plant load factor for generating power even in low wind speeds
    • Their Synerdrive Technology enables the turbine to function independently (without grid and climate influences)
    • Their Gridshaper provides faster/easier grid-integration with its full conversion system
    • Their Coolride is an innovative cooling circuit
    • Their internal supply unit enables the grid to start supplying immediately after the grid resumes from a shutdown
    • Their power electronics provide constant voltage and frequency even if the grid is tripped
