During the recently concluded Wind Power India 2012 expo, at Chennai, ReGen Powertech announced the introduction of Vensys 87, a 1.5 MW third-generation wind turbine.
Salient points to be noted about Vensys 87:
- 1.5 MW, Class III B Turbine
- Suitable for low and medium wind speeds, predominantly found in India
- Highest hub height in its class (Tower height: 85 meters)
- Largest swept area in its class (Rotor dia: 87 meters, Swept area: 5,942 sq.m)
- Rated wind speed: 12 m/s (Cut-in: 3 m/s; Cut-out: 22 m/s)
- Inbuilt Low Voltage Right Through (LVRT) technology for better grid compliance
