Founded in 1988 and focusing on power back-up solutions, Su-kam is a nationally well known brand for power back-up systems in India. Su-kam has made a healthy foray into solar power & back-up solutions and more recently, they have launched home lighting solutions based on Solar/LED systems, as well.

- Charge Controllers - Charge controllers are required to regulate the power that flows from the Solar PV modules/solar panels to the batteries (used to store electricity). If batteries are involved in your Solar PV system, you probably need charge controllers to avoid overcharging, to adjust the voltage levels and for temperature compensation.
- Solar Panels - Su-kam offers both crystalline and thin-film solar modules in the range 3 - 200 Watts (each). Solar panels are the heart of any solar electricity generation system as they convert sunlight into power. According to their website, their solar modules are compliant with the IEC 61215 standard.
- Solar Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) - Solar Power Conditioning Unit (PCU) is a combination of charge controller, grid charger (interface with main power lines) and inverter (DC electricity generated by solar modules is converted into AC electricity, usable by home appliances). This unit determines the source for charging the battery bank. It can switch between solar panels, grid power and diesel generators, as per the demands of the particular situation. The PCU gives maximum preference/priority to charging from solar panels (when available), as electricity from solar panels is basically free of cost.
- Solar High Frequency Inverters/Solar DSP based pure sine wave Inverters - Inverters convert DC electricity (generated by solar panels) into AC electricity (required to operate house-hold appliances). Su-kam offers 100 W to 2 KW high-frequency inverters & 2 KW to 80 KW pure sine wave inverters.
- Solar Pumps - Su-kam offers an entire range of solar powered pumps for domestic, agricultural and industrial usage. These pumps can be directly powered by the DC power generated by solar modules.
- Solar Street Lighting System - Solar street lights offer an economical solution to power up lights in pathways, gardens, open spaces and other locations that are generally difficult/costly to wire-up (through grid connectivity). This system will store solar power during the day (in compact batteries) and power the street lights during the night, when it is required.
- Solar Home Lighting System - Su-kam offers solar home lighting systems including solar panels, LED lights, batteries and external charger units. These lights can be used in lieu of tube-lights and CFL lamps, at home.
